The magic of Christmas through the eyes of a child was delightfully portrayed yesterday

The magic of Christmas through the eyes of a child was delightfully portrayed yesterday afternoon by over 180 children at Mount Nod Infants School, Coventry, in a Christmas pageant. The headmistress, Mrs. I. M. Whale, said that the event was designed to help the children to " link" the various aspects of Christmas. Mrs. Whale wrote the script and the presentation was a combined effort by all members of the staff. The children, between the ages of five and seven, illustrated the celebration of Christmas in various parts of the world, sang carols and re-enacted the Nativity story. But the most important character, Father Christmas himself was absent. He was overcome by stage fright at the last minute and was taken home in tears by an understanding mum.
