The men of the bridge. Yesterday morning while most of Scotland was asleep the men of the bridge were hard at work. The men are the 46 workers - a self contained unit of tradesmen - whose job year in year out is the maintenance of the Forth Bridge. Supervising was Mr Graham Bell. With a special squad and a number of goods wagons he had to organise the disposal of old rails recently torn up and replaced. 12th September 1949. © Mirrorpix
