Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The larger eel, identified as a Conger Eel (Mylophitis conger), exhibits its powerful, serpentine body and distinctive elongated pectoral fins. Known for their ability to burrow into the seabed, Conger Eels are apex predators in their marine habitats, reaching impressive sizes up to 1.5 meters in length. In stark contrast, the smaller eel in the foreground is a Sharpnosed Eel (Heterostichus rostratus). With its slender body and distinctively pointed snout, this eel is an excellent swimmer and is often found in brackish waters. Sharpnosed Eels are also known for their unique reproductive behavior, where they transform into an elongated, eel-like male and a rounded, fish-like female.
