The mirror of the ship on the right in the foreground is decorated with the coat of arms of Amsterdam, held up by two standing lions. This is probably a part of a war fleet that is getting ready for departure. A sloop with elegant figures, probably from the Admiralty, sails under trumpets and salute shots along the ships, while a little further on the last provisions and crew are still taken on board.
