Framed Print of Chetham's Library, Manchester DP220387

Chetham's Library in Manchester was founded in 1653. It is the oldest surviving public library in the country. The library is located in the former College of the Collegiate Parish Church of Manchester, established in 1422. The building became a house in the 16th century before it was adapted as a charity school and library. The site is now home to Chetham's School of Music.
