Framed Print of Last To Leave
11th July 1953: Dogs wait to join the inhabitants of the Isle of Soay in the Outer Hebrides, who have been evacuated to new homes on the Isle of Mull. The dogs will be the last to leave the island. All 27 islanders are being moved by the government after their crops failed and the income from fishing had dwindled. The island has been bought by Tex and Jeanne Geddes who hope to revitalise the land.
