Framed Print of Greenwich from Blackwall Reach, c.1830-40 (oil on canvas)

7337801 Greenwich from Blackwall Reach, c.1830-40 (oil on canvas) by British School, (19th century); 55.9x77.5 cm; National Maritime Museum, London, UK; (add.info.: Creator: British School
A scene on the Thames off the shoreline east of Greenwich in Blackwall Reach. There are two rowing boats in the foreground. The boat on the left is laden with supplies and the other is a peter boat, which is a distinctive Thames and Medway fishing craft. In the distance, to the left, the Royal Hospital at Greenwich is just visible on the skyline and to the right two small sailing vessels are shown becalmed. A rowing boat is shown pulled up on the shore of the Isle of Dogs, which was still largely a rural area. There is another group of vessels in the distance and a peter boat under sail on the extreme right.); © National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, London. © © National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, London / Bridgeman Images
