Created on vellum around 1440 by the talented Master of the Vitae Imperatorum, this manuscript is now housed in the prestigious Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris, France. The image captures our attention with its vivid depiction of Dante Alighieri's infamous journey through Hell. The artist skillfully portrays souls engulfed in flames and fire, their anguished faces reflecting their torment. The intricate details bring to life the underworld described in Dante's epic poem, "The Divine Comedy". It is worth noting that this manuscript has faced some unfortunate fate as parts of it were cut out and are currently located at Imola's Biblioteca Communale.
