Barber was a leg-spinning all-rounder who made 155 first-class appearances for the county between 1954 and 1962, and as an amateur was captain in 1960 and 1961. He played 28 tests for England. He had played for Cambridge University and would finish his career at Warwickshire.
Dyson made 150 first-class appearances for the county between 1954 and 1962, scoring 4433 runs and taking 161 wickets. He also played football for Manchester City, and scored in the 1956 FA Cup Final victory over Birmingham City

As they prepare to face their opponents, their determination is palpable. Bob Barber, a skilled leg-spinning all-rounder, was an integral part of Lancashire County Cricket Club for eight seasons. With 155 first-class appearances under his belt during his time with the county, he showcased his exceptional talent both with bat and ball. Not only did Barber captain the team in 1960 and 1961 as an amateur player but also represented England in 28 test matches.
