This was taken during the second spacewalk while space shuttle Discovery was docked to the International Space Station (ISS). During the 7 hour spacewalk the astronauts replaced 1 of the 4 gyroscopes that maintain the ISSs orientation in space. This mission, Return to Flight or STS-114, launched on 26th July 2005.
