This photograph captures Madame Sophie Schliemann, the wife of renowned archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann, adorned with ornaments believed to have once belonged to Helen of Troy. The image, taken circa 1877, showcases Madame Schliemann's regal presence as she proudly displays the treasures discovered at the ancient site of Mycenae in Greece. Heinrich Schliemann, a German businessman turned archaeologist, was famously obsessed with the legend of Helen and the Trojan War.
