The youngsters were among large crowds who enjoyed a fun-filled day, taking part in events based on Medieval country fairs such as apple bobbing and watching people suffer in the stocks. The fair got off to a traditional start when former headmaster Mr Brian Carter toured the village as a town crier. Scissett Youth Band provided entertainment and youngsters gave a country dancing display. Firms and shops made donations. Children from Class 5 raised money for the Examiner Bodyscanner Appeal with several stalls, while the fair raised 800 to buy play equipment for the infants school. 20th June 1987.All fall down!
