Notatus Canvas Print Collection

Notatus, also known as the rufous bettong, is a species of macropodid marsupial mammal native to Australia, and is a small animal, typically weighing between 1 and 2 kilograms. Its body is covered in reddish-brown fur and its tail can be up to twice as long as its body. Notatus lives in open grasslands and woodlands where it feeds on grasses, herbs, roots and other vegetation. It also loves to eat truffles that grow beneath the soil surface. Notatus has an unusual habit of storing food in its cheek pouches for later consumption or sharing with others of its kind. This species is listed as vulnerable due to habitat loss caused by human activities such as land clearing for agriculture or urban development. Conservation efforts are underway to protect this unique species from further decline.
