US Navy bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) being transported on an inflatable naval boat during operations in the Arabian Gulf. This dolphin was trained at the Navy Marine Mammal Program (NMMP), San Diego, USA. Dolphins have been trained by the US Navy since the 1960s for a variety of underwater tasks including, locating underwater mines, delivering equipment, locating objects, surveillance and guarding against human intruders. Dolphins are highly intelligent animals and proficient swimmers, using echolocation to sense their surroundings. The NMMP also trains California sea lions, killer whales and beluga whales

Bevelled wood effect frame, card mounted, 15x10 archival quality photo print. Overall outside dimensions 21x16 inches (54x41cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached.
