The global biosphere. A sequence of false-colour satellite images of Earths biosphere, showing the distribution of vegetation on land and phytoplankton in the oceans. The colours represent chlorophyll densities: from red (most dense) through yellow & blue to pink (least dense) in the oceans; & from dark green to pale yellow on land. The ocean data was acquired by the Coastal Zone Colour Scanner (CZCS), a radiometer with optical & infrared channels on NASAs Nimbus-7 satellite. The land data is derived from the visible & infra- red sensors of the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) on the NOa-7 satellite

Bevelled wood effect frame, card mounted, 12x12 archival quality photo print. Overall outside dimensions 18x18 inches (46x46cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached.
