By reaching inside the flower to gather the nectar with its tube-like proboscis, the bee has become dusted with pollen (yellow). The bee may also brush pollen from another flower onto this flowers reproductive organs causing cross- pollination. Michaelmas daisies are perennial plants with mauve flowers.
