The Bishop of Wakefield, the Rt Rev David Hope, blesses the new flag of the 63rd Huddersfield Guide company during a heartfelt confirmation service at St James's Church in Rawthorpe. This touching moment captured in February 1987 showcases the deep connection between religion and community. In this nostalgic photograph, we see members of the guide company proudly standing alongside their dedicated guider, Miss Pamela Hawkins. Dressed in their smart uniforms, these girls represent not only their organization but also embody the values and teachings of the Church of England. The Bishop's presence adds an air of reverence to this special occasion as he bestows his blessings upon the newly crafted flag. The flag itself symbolizes unity and pride within the 63rd Huddersfield Guide company - a beacon for all who witness it fluttering in the wind.
