EDITORS COMMENTS
This stunning vintage photograph showcases a beautiful Coronet Ware vase, adorned with a golden rim and a distinctive marking on its base. The inscription reads "The Coronet Ware, F.P. & S. Together with the badge of the Australian Commonwealth Military Forces. Commemorative Ware." This vase is a poignant reminder of the rich historical connection between the Australian military and the ceramics industry during the early 20th century. The Coronet Ware was a popular brand of pottery produced in Australia between 1910 and 1930. This particular piece, with its military commemorative markings, was likely created during the First World War (1914-1918) or the Second World War (1939-1945) to honor the Australian soldiers who served in these conflicts. The badge on the base indicates that this vase was an official military issue or a commemorative piece produced for the Australian military. The gold rim adds an elegant touch to the vase, making it a beautiful addition to any home or office decor. The topographical history of this piece is fascinating, as it not only represents the military history of Australia but also the industrial history of the Coronet Ware Company. This vase is a unique and meaningful piece of Australian history, and a testament to the resilience and patriotism of the Australian people during times of war.
