Continental drift after 250 million years
Continental drift after 250 million years, showing the supercontinent of Pangea Ultima, which was named for the ancient supercontinent of Pangea. Pangea began to break up some 200 million years before the modern era, and around 450 million years before the formation of Pangea Ultima. Some of the shapes of todays continents are still visible. Several such supercontinents have formed in the 4.5-billion-year history of the Earth

ANZAC PREVIEW AUSTRALIAN LIGHT HORSE
In memory of the Australian Army Veterinary Corp (AAVC), Chris Kennedy and his horse Chaos (left) and Damon Hughes and horse Maverick are seen at Currumbin Beach on the Gold Coast, Tuesday, April 23, 2019. The AAVC played a vital military role, from the Sudan and South African wars, through World War I and to the end of World War II. Veterinarians and their assistants provided professional care for horses, mules, camels, dogs and pigeons in the Australian Army, with 120 officers serving overseas in WWI. Kennedy and Chaos will participate in the annual Anzac Day dawn service at Currumbin Beach on Thursday. (AAP Image/Dave Hunt)

Australian troops counter-attack at Amiens, WW1
Australian troops hold the line at Villers Bretonneux nine miles east of Amiens during a German attack during the Battle of Amiens in April 1918. The image was an accurate impression by Sphere special artist, Fortunino Matania, having been reconstructed with the help of eyewitness accounts and official material. In the foreground, an infantryman, his rifle slung over his shoulder, takes over a Lewis Gun whose crew had been put out of action. Behind that can be seen another soldier hitting a German with his tin helmet (having already strangled another with his bare hands) while a third German attempts to flee down a railway cutting but is stopped by the gun fire of the Australian officer's batman. Date: 1919
