Bevelled wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 archival quality photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, the Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. This evocative photograph captures the entrance to the Great Cairn, a Neolithic tomb located at Carrowkeel in County Sligo, Republic of Ireland. Dating back to around 3500-3000 BC, this tomb is one of the most famous and best-preserved megalithic sites in Ireland. The Great Cairn is a passage tomb, with a narrow entrance leading to a central chamber surrounded by burial niches. The image showcases the entrance to the tomb, framed by two large boulders, with a pickaxe placed at the door for scale. The pickaxe, an implement commonly used for quarrying and construction, offers a sense of the passage of time and the many hands that have touched this ancient site over the centuries.
