EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the exquisite beauty of Antique Ewer Handle Shape Lioness Vases. The image, expertly captured by Artokoloro, transports us back in time to a period of elegance and sophistication. The antique ewer, with its ornate handle and unique shape, takes center stage in this composition. Its intricate details are a testament to the craftsmanship of artisans from centuries past. Surrounding the ewer are various lioness vases that add an element of regality to the scene. Engraved during the 16th century by Enea Vico, an Italian artist hailing from Parma, these vases were further adorned with motifs such as bovine skulls and garlands suspended between lion-shaped masks. This composite series is a true work of art that has stood the test of time. Published by Antonio Lafreri and featuring vase designs by Agostino Veneziano, this print captures not only historical significance but also artistic collaboration at its finest. Cropped within the plate mark to emphasize their grandeur, these antique vases demand attention with their impressive size measuring approximately 10 1/16 x 7 3/16 inches (256 x 183 cm). Whether displayed in a museum or cherished within a private collection, this print serves as a reminder of our rich cultural heritage and invites us to appreciate the timeless beauty found in antiquity.
