EDITORS COMMENTS
This print takes us back in time to the enchanting city of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, circa 1890. The artist behind this mesmerizing piece is Barbant, who skillfully captures the essence of this Central American gem. The view from La Conception offers a glimpse into the bustling town nestled amidst breathtaking natural beauty. The focal point of the image is undoubtedly the majestic Choluteca River, gracefully winding its way through the landscape. Its tranquil waters reflect the surrounding hills and mountains, creating a serene atmosphere that transports viewers to another era. This engraving showcases not only Tegucigalpa's geographical features but also highlights its significance as a hub for commerce and trade during the 19th century.
