Hunting or ritual scene

Hunting or ritual scene. The San cultures of Zimbabwe died out many centuries ago and little is known about the meaning of these images. Recent scholarship suggests that Zimbabwe paintings may have a broader range than the shamanistic trance dances seen as key to understanding San rock art in South Africa. Country of Origin: Zimbabwe. Culture: San. Date/Period: Prehistoric, circa 5000 BC - 0 AD. Credit Line: Werner Forman Archive. Location: 56
