Measuring 26x35.5 cm, this piece is currently housed in the National Library in St. Petersburg, Russia. Believed to have been created for Louise of Savoy, wife of Charles of Angouleme, this medieval manuscript holds great historical significance. The intricate illumination depicts a variety of curative herbs and flowers that were commonly used during that era. On the left side of the composition lies lonicera periclymenum or honeysuckle with its delicate vines adorned with thorny leaves.
