Cape Town, July 28 2000. The birds were among thousands of penguins rescued
in a mass evacuation after an ore carrier sank recently close to their
breeding grounds on islands north west of Cape Town. Conservation groups and
volunteers have been feeding and cleaning the birds in a converted warehouse
