Frederick II, also known as Frederick the Great, was a prominent figure in European history as the King of Prussia from 1740 until his death in 1786. Born in 1712 as the heir to the Electorate of Brandenburg, Frederick rose to power during the War of the Austrian Succession and went on to expand the Prussian territories significantly.
