At its center stands Anton Chekhov (1860-1904), the renowned Russian playwright, holding the pages of his groundbreaking play, "The Seagull." Surrounding him are members of the Moscow Art Theatre, the pioneering theatre company that would bring his works to life. She would go on to star in several of Chekhov's plays, including "The Cherry Orchard," in which she played the role of Anya.
