Airmen push out a pallet of donated goods over the Island of Yap from a C-130 Hercules
December 19, 2008 - Airmen wait for the right moment to push a boxed pallet of donated supplies from a C-130 Hercules over the remote Island of Yap to be dropped during the 2008 Operation Christmas Drop. Operation Christmas Drop is the Air Forceas longest-running humanitarian mission which began in 1952. Airmen today continue the tradition delivering supplies to remote islands of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Yap, Palau, Chuuk and Pohnpei.
