Oscar Pistorius, South African athlete

Oscar Pistorius (born 1986), South African athlete and double amputee, running in the heats of the 4 x 400 meters relay race at the 2011 Athletics World Championships. Pistorius was born without fibula bones (calf bones) and had both legs amputated below the knee at 11 month old. He runs on carbon fibre blades.
