Da Vinci coat-of-arms, Leonardo museum

Da Vinci coat-of-arms on the wall of a farmhouse in Anchiano, a village near Vinci, Italy. This is thought to be where the Italian artist, architect and inventor Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) was born. Leonardo lived here for five years, and then moved to Vinci, and then, at the age of fourteen, to Florence. Leonardo is most famous for his works of art, such as The Last Supper (1498) and the Mona Lisa (1504). Despite having little formal education, he filled notebooks with his scientific theories, inventions and architectural designs. His inventions included grinding and polishing machinery, and flying machines. Most of his projects were never published nor constructed. After Leonardos death his notes lay unnoticed in a library until 1796. The farmhouse is now a museum

This print showcases the Da Vinci coat-of-arms proudly displayed on the wall of a charming farmhouse in Anchiano, a picturesque village near Vinci, Italy. This humble abode is believed to be the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci, the renowned Italian artist, architect, and inventor who left an indelible mark on history. Leonardo spent his formative years here for five precious years before moving to Vinci and eventually settling in Florence at the tender age of fourteen. While he gained little formal education, his insatiable curiosity led him to fill countless notebooks with groundbreaking scientific theories, inventive creations, and visionary architectural designs. Among his extraordinary inventions were grinding and polishing machinery as well as ambitious flying machines that were far ahead of their time. Despite many of his projects remaining unpublished or unrealized during his lifetime, Leonardo's genius was only truly recognized after his passing in 1519 when his extensive notes were discovered in a library nearly three centuries later.
