17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print from December 1953 showcases a heartwarming scene at Mare Hill Farm in Pulborough. In the frame, we see a nine-year-old member of Petworth Town Band, proudly playing his musical instrument – possibly a euphonium – to an attentive audience of pigs. The image, part of the George Garland Collection and preserved by the West Sussex Record Office (Ref No: Garland N47138), exudes nostalgia and transports us back to the idyllic charm of rural life in the 1950s. The farmyard setting adds an authentic touch to this delightful snapshot. Surrounded by quaint wooden fences and nestled amidst rolling green fields, it perfectly encapsulates the simplicity and beauty of countryside living during that era. The young schoolboy's dedication to his craft is evident as he serenades these curious farm animals with melodies that surely resonated through their snouts. This photograph not only captures a moment frozen in time but also evokes emotions tied to community spirit and shared experiences. It reminds us of simpler times when music had the power to bridge gaps between species, bringing joy even to our four-legged friends. As we gaze upon this enchanting image, we are transported back into history where innocence prevailed and bonds were formed across unexpected boundaries. It serves as a reminder that sometimes all it takes is a little boy with his musical instrument surrounded by friendly pigs on a picturesque farmstead to remind us what truly matters – connection, harmony, and unadulterated happiness
