17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print titled "Solomon's Prayer at the Consecration of the Temple" transports us back in time to an ancient era filled with devotion and reverence. The image showcases a momentous occasion as King Solomon, known for his wisdom, stands before the magnificent temple he has built. In this solemn prayer captured by the lens, Solomon humbly acknowledges that he has constructed not just a physical structure but a sacred abode for God himself. With hands raised towards heaven, his eyes closed in deep contemplation, we witness his profound faith and dedication. The significance of this scene is amplified by the biblical reference from II Chronicles 6: "But I have built an house of habitation for thee and a place for thy dwelling forever". These words resonate with believers across generations, reminding us of our human desire to create spaces where divinity can reside. The composition itself exudes grandeur through its use of color and intricate details. This oleograph from c1870 captures every brushstroke meticulously applied to depict both architectural splendor and spiritual transcendence. As we gaze upon this powerful image steeped in judeo-christian tradition, it serves as a reminder of the enduring power of prayer and religious devotion. It invites us to reflect on our own places of worship – be they temples or churches – where we seek solace, guidance, and connection with something greater than ourselves.
