23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this chromolithograph from 1899, we are transported back in time to witness the power of language and cultural diversity in the United States. The image showcases Uncle Sam, a symbol of American patriotism, teaching four infants from different backgrounds - Philippines, Hawaii, Porto Rico (now Puerto Rico), and Cuba - the common language of English. As we observe this scene unfold, children can be seen engrossed in reading books labeled with various states' names. Their eager faces reflect their enthusiasm for learning and embracing knowledge. However, what truly captures our attention is a Native American child standing by a doorway with an upside-down book in hand. This poignant detail reminds us that every individual has unique experiences and perspectives when it comes to education. Adding another layer of complexity to this rich tableau is a Chinese boy peering curiously into the classroom setting. His presence highlights the multicultural fabric that defines America's history and its ongoing pursuit of inclusivity. This artwork serves as a reminder that language unites people across borders while celebrating diverse cultures within one nation. It encapsulates both the challenges faced by immigrants assimilating into American society and the importance of preserving native languages alongside English. Through this remarkable print, Universal Images Group invites us to reflect on how education has shaped our past and continues to shape our future as we strive for unity amidst diversity in today's globalized world.
