SpaceX CRS-2 launch, March 2013 C016 / 9704

SpaceX CRS-2 launch. Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) Falcon 9 rocket lifting off from Space Launch Complex 40, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida, USA, at 10:10am local time (EST) on 1 March 2013. The rocket is carrying a Dragon capsule filled with cargo. This is the third trip by the SpaceX Dragon capsule to the International Space Station (ISS). This mission is the second of 12 SpaceX flights contracted by NASA to resupply the ISS. It originated from NASAs COTS (Commercial Orbital Transportation Services) initiative, set up to encourage private companies to ship cargo to the ISS after the retirement of the shuttle program in 2011

23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the awe-inspiring moment of the SpaceX CRS-2 launch in March 2013. The image showcases the remarkable engineering and technological prowess of Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) as their Falcon 9 rocket gracefully ascends from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida, USA. It was an extraordinary sight to witness this historic event unfold at precisely 10:10 am local time (EST). The Falcon 9 rocket carries a Dragon capsule filled with essential cargo destined for the International Space Station (ISS). This mission marked the third trip by SpaceX's Dragon capsule to resupply the ISS, as part of NASA's initiative to encourage private companies after retiring its shuttle program in 2011. As flames ignite beneath it, this cutting-edge spacecraft symbolizes humanity's relentless pursuit of space exploration in the 21st century. The collaboration between NASA and SpaceX exemplifies how public-private partnerships can revolutionize aerospace industry advancements. The photograph beautifully encapsulates not only a significant milestone for American spaceflight but also highlights North America's prominent role in pushing boundaries beyond our planet. With its powerful Merlin engine propelling it forward, this commercial resupply service demonstrates how private space companies like SpaceX are shaping the future of space travel. This breathtaking image is a testament to human ingenuity and serves as a reminder that we are living in an era where dreams once confined to science fiction novels become reality through groundbreaking endeavors like those undertaken by SpaceX.
