23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the preserved baby mammoth, Dima. Found in 1977 in eastern Siberia, Russia, this well-preserved carcass of a male woolly mammoth offers an extraordinary glimpse into prehistoric life. Dima lived approximately 39,000 years ago and was just between 6 and 12 months old when he tragically perished, likely trapped in mud. Scientists have meticulously chemically treated Dima's body and conducted extensive studies on its organs, muscles, brain, heart, and cells. This comprehensive analysis has provided invaluable insights into the anatomy and biology of these magnificent creatures that roamed our planet long before human existence. The discovery of this young European mammoth in the frozen depths of Siberia is a testament to both nature's power to preserve ancient life forms and humanity's insatiable curiosity about our past. The permafrost acted as a natural freezer for thousands of years until it unveiled this remarkable specimen from a bygone era. Dima's preservation serves as a reminder of the incredible diversity that once thrived on Earth. Through scientific exploration and examination like this one, we can better understand our planet's history while also appreciating the delicate balance required for all species' survival. This awe-inspiring photograph captures not only the physical beauty but also the scientific significance behind preserving such rare finds. It invites us to contemplate our place within nature's grand tapestry while marveling at the wonders hidden beneath layers of time.
