Glacier crevasse, Canada
Glacier crevasse. Crevasse in the surface of the Tellot glacier. Crevasses form in glaciers as the ice cracks when the glacier moves. The stresses put on the ice as it flows down the mountain cause cracks like these to appear and disappear over time. Some crevasses can be extremely deep. The Tellot glacier is located in the Waddington Range of the Coast Mountains, British Columbia, Canada

17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the stunning beauty of a glacier crevasse in Canada. The image captures a moment frozen in time, revealing the intricate details of this natural phenomenon. As the Tellot glacier moves down the mountainous terrain of the Waddington Range in British Columbia's Coast Mountains, cracks like these form and disappear over time. The sheer power and force exerted by the moving ice create these deep crevasses that cut through the icy landscape. Against a backdrop of rocky mountains and under a clear blue sky, this glacial crevasse stands as a testament to nature's raw strength and resilience. The photograph perfectly encapsulates Canada's breathtaking geography, with its snowy peaks and icy formations. The coldness emanating from this frozen scene is palpable, reminding us of Mother Nature's ability to shape even the harshest environments into awe-inspiring wonders. Located within a nature reserve in British Columbia, this glacial masterpiece serves as both an educational tool for understanding geological processes and a reminder of our planet's fragile ecosystems. It is an invitation to explore and appreciate North America's majestic landscapes while also highlighting their importance for conservation efforts. As we gaze upon this mesmerizing print from Science Photo Library, we are transported to an untouched realm where glaciers carve their way through rugged terrains – an extraordinary sight that leaves us humbled by Earth's remarkable natural wonders.
