Artwork of supervolcano erupting on Mars

Planetary scientists have concluded that Eden Patera, a Martian crater, is the remains of an ancient supervocanic eruption, the first of its kind on this planet. Their conclusion is based on images and topographic data various orbiting spacecraft. The scientists believe that Eden, previously thought to be an impact structure, is a volcanic caldera which, when it erupted many millions of years ago, could have ejected as much as 1000 cubic km of material into the primitive Martian skies. Volcanoes like this may have played a crucial role in the development of Mars early atmosphere

Ancient Caldera Crater Eruption Mars Supervolcano Terrestrial Volcano

17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases an exquisite artwork depicting the awe-inspiring eruption of a supervolcano on Mars. Planetary scientists have recently made a groundbreaking discovery, concluding that Eden Patera, a Martian crater, is actually the remnants of an ancient supervolcanic eruption - the first of its kind ever found on this enigmatic planet. Through meticulous analysis of images and topographic data collected by various orbiting spacecraft, these brilliant minds have unraveled the secrets hidden within Eden. Previously believed to be an impact structure, it has now been identified as a volcanic caldera that unleashed its fury millions of years ago. The colossal explosion could have expelled an astonishing 1000 cubic km of material into the primordial Martian skies. These volcanoes played a pivotal role in shaping Mars' early atmosphere and geological history. As we gaze upon this mesmerizing artwork, we are transported back in time to witness the immense power and grandeur of this ancient event. The intricate details captured in this print allow us to appreciate both the artistic talent behind it and the scientific significance it holds. Science Photo Library brings us yet another remarkable piece that merges artistry with scientific exploration. This thought-provoking image invites us to ponder our place in the universe while marveling at Mars' turbulent past.
