Artwork featuring bones of human shoulder joint
Artwork featuring bones of the human shoulder joint (right side). The necessary strength of the shoulder joint is provided by the shoulder blade & collar bone. The rear of the joint is supported from the triangular-shaped scapula (the shoulder blade - at right), and the clavicle (collar-bone, top). The slender, curved clavicle articulates laterally with the scapula. The humerus, the bone of the upper arm, articulates with the glenoid cavity in a ball & socket type joint

Bones Humerus Scapula Shoulder Joint
17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This artwork showcases the intricate bones of the human shoulder joint, providing a glimpse into the remarkable strength and complexity of our skeletal system. The focal point of this print is the right side of the shoulder joint, where two crucial bones work in harmony to support its necessary functions. The triangular-shaped scapula, commonly known as the shoulder blade, forms an essential foundation for this joint at its rear. Positioned adjacent to it is the clavicle, also referred to as the collar bone, which adds further stability and reinforcement. These slender yet robust bones play a pivotal role in maintaining our upper body's mobility and structural integrity. The clavicle exhibits a graceful curvature that articulates laterally with the scapula, forming a vital connection between these two elements. Meanwhile, at another key junction within this joint lies the humerus -the upper arm bone- which seamlessly fits into the glenoid cavity in a ball-and-socket type arrangement. Through this mesmerizing artwork by Science Photo Library, we are reminded of how intricately designed our bodies truly are. It serves as a testament to both artistry and scientific understanding by beautifully capturing these anatomical details while highlighting their significance in supporting human movement and functionality.
