Part of the main highway linking Beirut to Damascus, is seen through a car windscreen during a snow storm in Sawfar village in eastern Lebanon, December 12, 2010. 23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
A winter wonderland unfolds through the car windscreen as snowflakes dance in the air, obscuring the view of the main highway linking Beirut to Damascus. Captured by photographer Jamal Saidi in Sawfar village, eastern Lebanon, this print encapsulates both beauty and challenge. The date is December 12,2010, a day when Lebanon experienced its coldest winter spell of the season. The heavy snowfall has transformed the landscape into a picturesque scene with mountains peaks covered in a thick blanket of white. However, this natural spectacle comes at a cost - roads are blocked and travel becomes treacherous. As we gaze through the windscreen, we can imagine the struggle faced by drivers navigating their way along this vital route. This image serves as a reminder of nature's power to simultaneously captivate and disrupt our lives. It highlights how environmental forces can transform familiar spaces into something entirely different - turning an ordinary road trip into an extraordinary adventure or causing inconvenience and danger for those trying to reach their destinations. Through his lens, Jamal Saidi captures not only a moment frozen in time but also conveys the impact that weather conditions can have on our daily lives. This photograph invites us to reflect on our relationship with nature and appreciate its ability to shape our experiences - sometimes enchanting us with its beauty while other times challenging us with its unpredictability.
