Snow falls on the grounds of the U. S. Capitol as a blizzard blankets Washington

Snow falls on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol as a blizzard blankets Washington, February 6, 2010. 17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photo print, snow gracefully descends upon the grounds of the U. S. Capitol, transforming Washington into a winter wonderland during a blizzard on February 6,2010. The mighty storm unleashed heavy snowfall and fierce winds across the mid-Atlantic region, resulting in two tragic fatalities and bringing travel to a standstill. Jonathan Ernst's lens skillfully captures this environmental spectacle as it unfolds. The image showcases the sheer beauty of nature's power against man-made structures. The iconic dome of the U. S. Capitol stands tall amidst the snowy landscape, serving as a symbol of resilience in the face of adversity. The serene white blanket covering every surface creates an ethereal atmosphere that contrasts with the bustling urban city just beyond. This photograph prompts reflection on our environment and its vulnerability to extreme weather events like blizzards caused by global warming concerns. It reminds us that even within such coldness and chaos lies an undeniable picturesque charm. No people are present in this scene; instead, trees stand together in unity against nature's icy grip. Their branches bow under layers of frozen precipitation while providing shelter for creatures seeking refuge from this natural phenomenon. Jonathan Ernst has masterfully captured both the grandeur and fragility inherent in our surroundings through his creative use of composition and lighting techniques. This stunning visual narrative serves as a reminder to appreciate Earth's beauty even amidst challenging circumstances - reminding us all to cherish our planet and protect it for future generations.
