23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this poignant print captured in Shanghai, China, we witness a chicken confined within the confines of a cage at a bustling market. The image, taken on October 26,2005, serves as a stark reminder of the devastating impact of bird flu outbreaks that plagued the country during that time. Tragically, just days before this picture was taken, a 12-year-old girl from a village in central China succumbed to flu-like symptoms caused by bird flu. This incident marked the third outbreak within one week and sent shockwaves throughout the nation. The photograph encapsulates both the vulnerability and resilience of life amidst such challenging circumstances. The caged chicken symbolizes not only its own captivity but also represents countless other birds affected by this deadly virus. It serves as an eerie metaphor for how easily diseases can spread when humans come into close contact with infected animals. While it is impossible to ascertain all the details behind this specific image without further context or information about its surroundings, it undoubtedly captures an important moment in history – one where public health concerns collided with everyday life at local markets like these. This Reuters Images photograph stands as a powerful testament to our collective responsibility towards animal welfare and disease prevention. It reminds us that even seemingly ordinary scenes can hold profound significance when viewed through the lens of global health crises.
