23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print takes us back to the summer of 1933, when the London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) sought to entice travelers to the picturesque coastal resort of Withernsea in North Yorkshire. The poster, skillfully designed by Margaret Horder, showcases a delightful scene that captures the essence of seaside holidays. In this charming image, we see a young woman donning a stylish bathing costume and robe, cradling a small redheaded child in her arms. Their smiles radiate pure joy as they bask in the sun-drenched beach setting. The mother's carefree expression reflects the relaxation and tranquility that await visitors at Withernsea. The LNER aimed to highlight not only the natural beauty of this coastal gem but also its family-friendly atmosphere. By featuring an idyllic moment between mother and child, they emphasized how Withernsea was an ideal destination for creating cherished memories with loved ones. Measuring at 1016 mm x 635 mm, this print invites viewers into a bygone era where swimming costumes were fashionable and summers were spent building sandcastles on golden shores. It serves as both a nostalgic reminder of simpler times and an inspiration for future adventures along Britain's stunning coastline. Preserved within National Railway Museum's Pictorial Collection, this artwork allows us to appreciate not just its aesthetic appeal but also its historical significance in promoting rail travel during an era when exploration was eagerly embraced.
