17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print takes us back to a significant moment in history, capturing the brave lifeboatmen of Walmer, Kent. The year is 1945, just after the end of World War II, and these courageous individuals stand tall as symbols of hope and resilience in their community. Amongst them stands Coxwain Fred Upton, a figure revered for his leadership and unwavering dedication to saving lives at sea. His presence exudes strength and determination as he leads this group of selfless heroes who risk their own safety to rescue those in distress. The image transports us to an era when charities played a vital role in supporting emergency services like lifeboats. These organizations were lifelines for countless sailors and ships navigating treacherous waters. The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) was one such organization that provided crucial aid during maritime emergencies. As we gaze upon this snapshot frozen in time, we can almost feel the salty breeze on our faces and hear the crashing waves against the hulls of ships nearby. This photograph serves as a reminder of the bravery displayed by these men who faced perilous conditions with unwavering resolve. Memory Lane Prints has beautifully preserved this piece of history through Cavell's lens, allowing us to honor not only these remarkable individuals but also all those who have dedicated themselves to serving others during times of crisis.
