23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photo print, we are transported back to August 1974, where the Newport Saracens rugby club is honoring one of their own - the legendary British Lion Bobby Windsor. This momentous occasion brings together not only former players but also their elegant ladies, creating an atmosphere of celebration and camaraderie. At the center of attention stands Bobby Windsor himself, a true icon in the world of rugby. Flanked by his fellow teammates Tom David, Fran Cotton, Mike Burton, John J Williams, and Mervyn Davies; Windsor exudes pride and gratitude for being recognized by his beloved club. The admiration on everyone's faces is palpable as they gather around him. The presence of these remarkable women adds a touch of grace to the festivities. Miss Janet Fenn, Mrs Phil Bennett, Miss Kathie Wilson, Mrs Bobby Windsor (undoubtedly proud), Mrs Mike Burton (supportive as ever), Mrs John J Williams (radiating elegance), and Mervyn Davies' wife all stand proudly beside their husbands. This snapshot freezes a moment in time when sport brought people together in joyous celebration. It captures not just a dinner event or a gathering but an embodiment of shared passion for rugby and deep-rooted connections among these Lions. Ted Marshman's expertly captured image allows us to relish this historical moment from our past while reminding us that sports have always had the power to unite communities and create lasting memories.
