17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print takes us back to the 8th of April, 1986, when the iconic steam locomotive, 92220 Evening Star, graced the Grosmont to Pickering line. Steeped in history and significance, this magnificent train holds a special place in British Rail's legacy as it was the last steam locomotive ever built for them in 1960. As we gaze upon this snapshot from Teesside Archive's Memory Lane Prints collection, we are transported to a bygone era where railways were at the heart of transportation. The platform is bustling with anticipation as passengers eagerly await their journey aboard this majestic steam engine. The atmosphere is electric; you can almost hear the rhythmic chugging and feel the billowing clouds of smoke that once filled these stations. The photograph serves as a poignant reminder of an era long gone but not forgotten. It symbolizes our collective nostalgia for simpler times when trains were more than just modes of transport - they were symbols of progress and adventure. For two weeks only, on Tuesdays and weekends, Evening Star will traverse these tracks once again to commemorate the Whitby and Pickering Railway's remarkable 150-year milestone. This rare opportunity allows enthusiasts young and old alike to witness firsthand the power and beauty that defined an entire generation. Teesside Archive has captured a moment frozen in time - one that evokes memories of grandeur and awe-inspiring engineering feats.
