23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

West Middlesbrough Scouts - Transforming the Marchesi Charity Centre with Helping Hands

EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this print from 1993, we are transported back to a time when community spirit and volunteerism were at their peak. The image showcases the West Middlesbrough Scouts diligently working together to revitalize the old Marchesi Charity Centre on Tollesby Road, transforming it into a vibrant community hub set to open its doors in September. The picture captures three young scouts, Paul Phillips (14), Craig Salter (12), and John Bourner (11), proudly wearing their uniforms as they immerse themselves in the refurbishment project. With paintbrushes in hand and determination etched across their faces, these boys epitomize dedication and enthusiasm for giving back to their local community. This snapshot perfectly encapsulates an era where children actively participated in clubs like Boy Scouts and Cubs, fostering invaluable life skills while making a positive impact around them. Their efforts serve as a reminder of how schoolchildren once eagerly engaged in meaningful projects that benefited society as a whole. Simon Calgie's photograph immortalizes not only the transformation of an old building but also celebrates teamwork, camaraderie, and selflessness within our youth. It serves as an inspiring testament to the power of volunteering and highlights how small acts can create lasting change within communities. As we reflect upon this nostalgic scene today, let us be reminded of the importance of instilling such values in future generations – encouraging them to become active participants who
