17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this nostalgic print from 1976, we see the three elegant stewardesses of Dan-Air's BAC1-11 jet proudly posing in their crisp uniforms. The international airline, known for its operations at Newcastle Airport, decided to pay homage to the city by inviting Lord Mayor Councillor Hugh White to officially name their aircraft "The City of Newcastle". Captured against a backdrop of blue skies and an imposing airliner, Carol Govey, Vicki Roberts, and Sue Haley exude confidence and grace as they represent the epitome of professionalism in the aviation industry. These young women were not just ordinary flight attendants; they were ambassadors for both leisurely vacations and important business travel. As symbols of hospitality and impeccable service, these air hostesses embodied the spirit of adventure that came with flying during the 1970s. Their presence on board ensured that passengers felt comfortable throughout their journey while adding a touch of glamour to every flight. This photograph is a testament to an era when air travel was still considered a luxury experience. It transports us back in time, reminding us of how far aerospace technology has come since then. As we admire this snapshot frozen in history, let us appreciate these remarkable individuals who played an integral role in shaping our perception of flying as more than just transportation but also as an unforgettable experience.
