23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print takes us back to the summer of 1995, capturing a significant transformation in transportation history. The Victorian railway Newton Cap viaduct at Bishop Auckland stands tall and proud, as it undergoes a remarkable metamorphosis into a road bridge. This monumental change signifies the evolution of travel and connectivity within our rural landscapes. As we gaze upon this image, we are transported to an era where railways were the lifelines of communities, enabling journeys across vast distances. Trains chugged along these tracks, carrying passengers from one destination to another with efficiency and charm. The viaduct itself served as a symbol of engineering marvels that connected people and places. Now repurposed as a road bridge, this historic structure continues its legacy by facilitating modern-day transport needs. It gracefully spans over the river below, blending seamlessly into its picturesque surroundings. The rural scene surrounding the viaduct adds an element of tranquility and nostalgia to this snapshot from Memory Lane Prints. This print serves as a reminder that progress is inevitable; however, it also pays homage to our rich heritage in public transport systems. It invites us to reflect on how far we have come while appreciating the beauty found in both old-world charm and contemporary functionality. Captured by NCJ on July 12th, 1995, this image encapsulates not just physical changes but also sparks curiosity about the stories hidden within those train carriages that once traversed these very tracks.
