23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

Capturing the Joy of a Bygone Era - Jim Harper, Stationmaster for a Day on Tanfield Railway

EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this nostalgic print from Memory Lane Prints, we are transported back to the 1980s when Jim Harper took on the role of stationmaster for a day at Tanfield Railway. The image captures the essence of an all-day service that commenced from a brand-new station in Sunniside, Gateshead on July 14th, 1982. Jim Harper stands proudly on the platform, donning his crisp uniform and holding a whistle in hand. With his infectious smile and gleaming eyes, it is evident that he thoroughly enjoyed his temporary position as stationmaster. Behind him stand two other individuals – one an engineer with tools in hand and another person acting as guard – both equally enthusiastic about their roles in ensuring smooth operations. The steam engine billows smoke into the air while waiting patiently to embark upon its journey. Mixed-age passengers eagerly await their transport, adding to the vibrant atmosphere surrounding this bustling railway hub. Flags flutter gently overhead, symbolizing celebration and excitement. This photograph encapsulates not only public transportation but also serves as a testament to community spirit and shared experiences during simpler times. It reminds us of an era where railways were more than just means of travel; they were places where friendships were forged and memories made. As we gaze upon this scene frozen in time by NCJ's lens, we can't help but feel grateful for these glimpses into our past
