23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
The 20,000 ton BP tanker British Sportsman, a testament to the shipbuilding prowess of Swan Hunter on the Tyne in 1951, stands solemnly at Newcastle quayside. This powerful image captures a pivotal moment in maritime history as this once-mighty vessel awaits her uncertain fate. It is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge the overwhelming likelihood that she will soon be sold for scrap. In an era defined by progress and innovation, this photograph serves as a poignant reminder of the transitory nature of even our greatest achievements. The British Sportsman's sturdy frame and impressive capacity were once symbols of industrial might and global trade. Now, they stand as silent witnesses to changing times. The year is 1972, and the world has moved on from these grand vessels that traversed oceans with grace and purpose. As we gaze upon this print captured by NCJ from Memory Lane Prints, we cannot help but reflect on the countless stories held within those steel walls – tales of daring voyages across treacherous seas and camaraderie forged among crew members. While it may seem like an ending for British Sportsman, let us not forget that every end marks a new beginning. As one chapter closes for this majestic tanker, another opens for future generations who will continue to shape our maritime heritage. May this photograph serve as both a tribute to the past and an inspiration for what lies ahead in shipbuilding history.
